TRU-D SMART UVC iQ SYSTEM DISINFECTION DEVICE Product Service Code: 6515 NAICS Code: 334517 Place of Performance: NIH CLINICAL CENTER - Materials Management & Environmental Services Department (MMESD) POTS: 23-009177 Description This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a fixed price contract to Tru-D Smart UVC iQ System Disinfection Device from the company L1 ENTERPRISES INC., Frederick, Maryland 21701-4028 UEI: RK5ZXQ77CN73 on a sole source basis to provide a Tru-D Smart UVC iQ System for the Materials Management & Environmental Services Department (MMESD) at the NIH Clinical Center (CC). MMESD has a need to upgrade the CCs two legacy Tru-D Smart UVC devices to the Tru-D Smart UVC iQ System. Tru-D Smart UVC produces an enhanced product, Tru-D iQ system, that meets the governments minimum requirement of a single placement disinfection robot that ensures consistent UVC dose to disinfect shadowed areas not in line of sight with the UV Instrument. This product does not impede flow and function of staff nor will it require extended time and manpower for proper use and will limit the duration of time in which the intended area may be down or unsuitable for patient occupancy. In accordance with FAR 13.5 Test Program: The product (Tru-D) was specifically tested and validated to be effective in a single placement in both direct and shadowed areas. This disinfection robot is the only UV device available in the market place with more than 10 pieces of scientific literature published on the effectiveness of the Tru-D device attesting to its ability to lower healthcare acquired infections in healthcare facilities. Automated room disinfection technologies are increasingly being used as an adjunct to standard cleaning and disinfection of healthcare facilities. The use of this equipment in connection with standard cleaning and disinfection has proven to reduce the rate of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI). This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
